I'm Jude, and I'm a photographer based in northwest Arkansas. I love photography, and I would love to see your smiling face in front of my camera! I love working with adults, kids, and animals-- I'm all about having fun while capturing genuine emotions and connections. When I'm not behind the camera, I love spending time in nature, gardening and growing trees, traveling, and spending quality time with my partner and our two fur babies.
Message meFirst we'll pick a time and place. I like to schedule photoshoots one hour before sunset (photographers call this magical time of day the 'golden hour'), but we can get beautiful photos anytime day or night. The location is entirely up to you. If you don't already have the perfect spot in mind, I'll work with you to find a location you'll love. I'll send you a quick pre-photoshoot survey to get to know you and what you're wanting out of your photoshoot, and you'll have the option to discuss ideas or ask questions at any time.
The shoot itself is all about having fun and capturing real moments and real smiles. We'll avoid stiff and awkward poses, and I'll be snapping away while doing my best to make sure everyone is comfortable and having a great time. You're more than welcome to bring your own ideas and creativity to the shoot, or leave that part entirely up to me.
Whatever you want! You know what you like and how you'd like to be seen. I recommend avoiding brand names and writing on clothing (as it can be very distracting in photos). Other than that, I trust clients to make fashion choices that suit their unique personalities and sense of style. Standard photoshoots include enough time for one outfit change, so you can try out two different styles during one shoot. Deluxe photoshoots allow for unlimited outfit changes.
If you're struggling to decide on outfits for yourself or your family, I'm always happy to help. I can offer suggestions and links to style guides, and help you to hammer out all the details. If you're struggling to decide between a few different outfits or styles, I'm always available to help you make those decisions.
After a photoshoot, you'll receive your photos within three weeks (or within six weeks for weddings). The photoshoot itself is just the first step in creating your photos. Afterwards, I'll sort through hundreds (or sometimes thousands) of photos to select the very best. During post processing, each photo is given meticulous attention until every detail is just perfect.
Your digital photos will be delivered via a link to an online gallery where you can view, download, and share them. All photoshoot packages include prints, which you will be able to choose and order directly through the gallery. You'll also have the option to order additional prints and photo gifts easily through your gallery.
Have you ever snapped a photo of a beautiful sunset or a particularly magical moment, only to find that your camera has completely failed to capture the beauty of what you're really seeing? Using a quality camera with the right settings can definitely help, but editing in post processing is where a lot of the magic happens. I use post processing to try to create photos that look like real life, with none of the magic and beauty of the moment lost in translation.
My editing style is colorful and true-to-life. Each photo is carefully edited bring out its full potential, while also embracing the reality of the moment captured. I will also remove minor distractions from the background and from the subject during post processing (such as strangers in the background, skin blemishes, small cuts and scrapes, runny noses, chapped lips, etc).
Don't worry, I completely understand how you feel! It's a lot easier for me to be behind a camera than in front of one. But don't let that stop you-- let me work with you to take some great photos you'll love.
I'll work with you to get those genuine smiles and candid moments, so you don't have to force it for the camera. I'll take any insecurities or concerns that you share with me into careful consideration, and I'll do everything I can to make you feel comfortable and confident. You'll be the first to see the finished images, and you'll have the option to hide any that you don't like from your online gallery (and I will never show anyone a photo of you that you don't want to be seen). Let's work together, and I know that we can have fun and get some great shots that do you justice and show how just how beautiful you truly are!
Kids will be kids, and that's okay! My aim is to get your kids to have so much fun that they'll be looking forward to the next photoshoot. We'll use fun prompts with lots of movement and activity to have your kids acting like kids, all while getting some great photos.
You can help your kids get comfortable with the idea of having their pictures taken by hyping up the photoshoot ahead of time. Go ahead and let them know how much fun we're all going to have! This is their opportunity to really ham it up in front of the camera, and most kids love all the attention. No worries if you're kid is camera shy-- we'll work throughout the shoot to make your entire family feel comfortable in front of the camera.
No worries! Life happens, and I understand that. A nonrefundable 50% deposit is due at the time of booking, but you can reschedule your photoshoot at anytime. My approach to business is flexible and laidback. Just get in touch as soon as you know that you need to postpone a shoot, and we'll go ahead and reschedule-- no big deal.
Yes! Most of my business comes word-of-mouth through satisfied past clients. If you recommend me to anyone who books a photoshoot, the new client will receive 20% off their first session and you'll receive 20% off your next session.
If you refer a client who purchases a wedding package, the new client will receive 10% off the total wedding package, and you'll receive a $50 voucher that can be applied towards prints or your next photoshoot.
